About me

My name is Carmella Spagnola and I am a classically trained fine artist. In my work, I focus on the art of storytelling through still-life and figurative pieces.

I graduated from the American Academy of Art College with a BFA in fine arts specializing in oil painting. Through my years at the academy, I began teaching drawing, and painting classes at Kaleidoscope School of Fine Art. Teaching art has been one of the most rewarding experiences, in that I can guide people of different levels, and continue my learning. I’ve realized that along with the passion to create, I concentrate on improving the process and methods used in the realist traditions. I’ve continued my education with classes at the Angel Academy of Art and am currently taking classes at the Ravenswood Atelier.

In my personal work I am inspired by the pre-Raphaelites ability to create harmony between figures in nature. I desire to use literature with a focus on mythology to retell these timeless lessons.
